Literature Text

Cold, seeking warmth,
Biting with icy fingers.

...

Things once there,
Now unseen,
Ghosting past,
Like a memory.

...

Tearing, rendering limbs numb,
Leaving void of life.

...

Ever gone,
Out of reach,
Trapped beneath the icy waters.

...

Agony, as life slips away,
Stolen on death's cold wings.

...

Sparkling castles,
Made of snow,
Ice-glass sculptures,
In courts of cold.

///...///

Deadly, and fragile, together.

///...///

Memories, fleeing away,
With life's last breath.

...

Children who once played,
With flurries of white,
On the breath of winter,
Now lie in their graves of snow,
Bound in winter's embrace.

...

Gone, no warmth remains,
As blood turns to ice.

...

Visions once had,
Now fade away,
Memories are gone,
Nothing remains.

...

Chilled, the lonely wind howls,
As silent flakes fall.

...

There's no escaping,
This cold fate,
No answer to the riddle,
No key to the lock.

...

Faces, once known,
Replaced by visages,
Of winter's monarchy.

...

Beyond icy bonds,
Hope is frivolity,
Imposing walls of frozen water,
Keep tight the life before.

...

Black, entails of nothingness,
Encapsulate the soulless state.

...

Trapped in snow,
Now frozen within,
A cold heart,
Never beats.

...

Emptiness, left in it's wake,
A frozen waste land.

///...///

For a frozen heart.
I wrote this based off a dream I had. I'm sure others have had dreams that are like stories, right? Fully formed characters, following a plot, and totally unpredictable, right? Anyway, I've been having plenty of those lately, but this one stood out to me, and I'll have to write something based off of it eventually.

There are a few ways that you can read this, but since it's more complicated then usual, I'm going to include my other line up down here...

::Ice Lullaby- Version Two::

Cold,

Tearing,

Agony,

Memories,

Gone,

Chilled,

Faces,

Black,

Emptiness.

...

Seeking warmth,

Rendering limbs numb,

As life slips away,

Fleeing away,

No warmth remains,

The lonely wind howls,

Once known,

Entails of nothingness,

Left in it's wake.

...

Biting with icy fingers,

Leaving void of life,

Stolen on death's wings,

With life's last breath,

As blood turns to ice,

As silent flakes fall,

Replaced by visages of winter's monarchy,

Encapsulate the soulless state,

A frozen waste land.

...

Things once there,

Now unseen,

Ghosting past,

Like a memory.

Sparkling castles,

Made of snow,

Ice-glass sculptures,

In courts of cold.

Visions once had,

Now fade away,

Memories are gone,

Nothing remains.

Beyond icy bonds,

Hope is frivolity,

Imposing walls of frozen water,

Keep tight the life before.

...

Ever gone,

Out of reach,

Trapped beneath the icy waters.

Children who once played,

With flurries of white,

On the breath of winter,

Now lie in their graves of snow,

Bound in winter's embrace.

There's no escaping,

This cold fate,

No answer to the riddle,

No key to the lock.

Trapped in snow,

Now frozen within,

A cold heart,

Never beats.

...

Deadly, and fragile, together.
For a frozen heart.

Which ever way you read this, and which ever way you prefer, and I hope you liked it!:) Personally, I prefer them woven together, rather then blocked out. But I also like the squared off version because it captures the story behind the words. Unfortunately, the story is rather lost in the original version.

 Thanks for reading!!:D
